P&G brandSAVER® Promotion

In the United States the annual P&G brandSAVER® has raised nearly $40 million for Special Olympics since its inception in 1980. The brandSAVER once again run throughout the month of January, 2012. Through this cause marketing promotion, Special Olympics has consistently contributed to driving sales, market share and incremental retail activity for the participating brands. Procter & Gamble has also provided support to Special Olympics globally through regional grants.

Campain Support for the 2011 Special Olympics World Games

In 2011, P&G launched a campaign that honors Special Olympics moms by supporting their sons and daughters with a gift to Special Olympics Team USA to help in their journey to the 2011 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Athens, Greece. The Proud Sponsor of Moms theme was featured in a television commercial called “What I see” that features Special Olympics Team USA athlete, Molly Hincka, and her mom, Kerry Hincka. It is a touching spot showing Molly’s life journey where her mom Kerry says, “I never saw the things my child couldn’t do. I only imagined what she could.”

Worldwide Support

In addition to providing support to Special Olympics in the United States, P&G also provides support around the world through marketing campaigns as well as its Live, Learn & Thrive grants. For example, for the past four years P&G has partnered with Special Olympics Middle East/North Africa to raise awareness and funds through the "Create Heroes" campaign. The campaign raises funds from sales of designated P&G products sold in stores in the United Arab Emirates, a percentage of which benefits local Special Olympics Programs in the region.
