Asia Pacific welcomes new Regional President

Angelina Ong joined the Special Olympics family as President and Managing Director of the Asia Pacific region on Jan 1, 2017. She is no stranger to the movement, having served as a Board Member, supporting key projects in Singapore and the region. “I believe strongly in the movement’s principle of unified activities, which is the key in changing mindsets and promoting inclusivity,” she said. She brings 20 years of experience in management and marketing communications to her new role. She has served in business and public relations leadership positions across Asia Pacific including 11 years in China, 9 years in Singapore and assignments in Indonesia, New York, London, Dubai. “I hope to ‘glocalize’ our movement’s messages and advocacy efforts across Asia Pacific, establishing strategic partnerships to deliver meaningful impact to sports programning, schools and health of our athletes, families and fans. Now is the perfect time for us to lend a greater voice to this meaningful cause."
