Special Olympics Great Britain has teamed up with Bank of America Merrill Lynch on an exciting new athlete leadership initiative. The mentor programme is the first of its kind in Europe.
Fifteen athletes of all ages and abilities will be paired with mentors from Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Over a 12 month period, athletes will have the opportunity to work on a range of development workshops and gain valuable experience and insights from their mentors along the way.
Special Olympics Great Britain Athlete Leader Georgina Maton is looking forward to the programme: "Athlete leadership means having a chance to spread the word about Special Olympics. Having mentors from Bank of America means there are people who want to help us do this."
Anthony Harte, Head of Community Engagement, EMEA, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, commented: “This skills-share initiative will give our employees valuable experience while helping the athletes to reach their considerable potential, on and off the playing field."
