The Director of the Special Education Division of the Ghana Education Service spoke on the benefit of sports to people with an intellectual disability. Messages of support were read from Special Olympics Ghana sponsors, notably Coca Cola, Herbalife, and Max International to mark the celebration of EKS day Our Young Athletes were not to be outdone and they read and displayed messages and placards celebrating Eunice Kennedy Shriver and the difference that she has made in their lives. The Ghana athletes who competed at the 2015 Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles were also honored for their achievements and the inspiration that they provide.
