Special Olympics Great Britain athlete leader and gold medalist Matt Dodds and Special Olympics Europe Eurasia Communications Director Fiona Hynes visited our great broadcast partner ESPN’s London offices. Invited to attend the ESPN Inspirational talk series to chat about all things Special Olympics, Fiona and Matt had the opportunity to share their experiences at two different roles in the organization and answered questions from the audience. Matt focused on how Special Olympics increased his self-confidence and changed his social life. He said “winning a gold in 2015 in Los Angeles made me much more confident. I wouldn’t have come up here to talk today before LA 2015 Games and now I want to become a full-time inspirational speaker.” One of the highlights at the conclusion of the session was hearing the remarks of Kevin Martinez, who leads ESPN’s corporate social responsibility and corporate citizenship efforts, on ESPN’s support to take the Play Unified initiative to the next step.
