Stroke survivor bringing message of perseverance to Special Olympics team

On September 26, 2012, at the age of 37, I suffered a massive brain hemorrhage stroke and endured being in a induced coma for 10 days. I was given a 50/50 chance of survival and my family was told to say their final goodbyes. But by the grace of God I was able to fight and overcome a major setback. After 2 months in the hospital I was left paralyzed on one side unable to walk and talk. Determination and faith helped me relearn those functions we take for granted.
